The proposed Bertha Park Link Road is Phase 3 of the Council’s Perth Transport Futures Project. It will connect Phase 1 (A9/A85 Junction Improvement and Link Road to Bertha Park) and Phase 2 (Cross Tay Link Road (CTLR)). The new road travels north from the existing roundabout adjacent to Bertha Park High School, passing between the residential properties of the Bertha Park village. The new road then passes through areas of farmland and forestry and then meets the new A9 west roundabout, currently under construction as part of the PTFP Phase 2 CTLR project. The Council approved funding for Phase 3 in February 2024 and the Council have appointed design consultants Sweco to carry out the specimen design, the necessary site surveys and preparation of the required planning submission documents. More information on the timeline can be found here: Consultation Board 3
To ensure that the scheme design meets local needs the Council’s Roads Infrastructure Team and Sweco have carried out various consultations with all relevant user groups to inform design decisions. This culminated in a public consultation event which was held on 24 July 2024 in the Bertha Park HUB. The event was well attended and provided members of the local community with the opportunity to review the proposals and feedback any comments or concerns. All information that was shown at this event can be found here:
The Approval of Matters application for the scheme was submitted to the Planning Authority in August 2024.
The next stage of the project will be the detailed design followed by construction. Further updates will be provided within the next few months.
Dated – September 2024
