Who

The Challenge
"Inspiring the next generation"
The Activity
As part of the Cross Tay Link Road (CTLR) project, construction professionals from BAM Nuttall - Samantha Steven (Business Improvement Coordinator), Matthew Rose (Intermediate Quantity Surveyor) and Calum Flett (Site Engineer) provided S4 and S5 pupils an insight into some of the different job roles and career paths available within the construction industry. Each shared details of their journey to get to where they are now, including their own experiences with school and studies. Innes Mackintosh (Stakeholder & Community Engagement Manager) then rounded the session with an overview of the CTLR project.
The Result
Around 25 pupils opted to attend the session and were very engaged throughout. As a result, BAM Nuttall proposes to work further with Bertha Park High School to facilitate site visits, which may lead to work experience for those with a keen interest in the construction industry.
The Cross Tay Link Road is Phase Two of the Perth Transport Futures project, which will deliver a more efficient and better-connected transport system and a cleaner city centre environment.
